Today we have a very special post, in which we did not want to miss the appointment of the International Women's Day. One day commemorating the importance of women in our society and defends equality and the defense of all their rights.
Given all this, we wanted to do our little homage by dedicating this post to some of the women who have made it possible for the online world (our means of work) to be what it is today :)
Let's go there! ;)
Ada Lovelace: The First Programmer.
And is that the first programmer in history could not miss our list of outstanding women. Born in London in December 1815, she worked very closely with Charles Babbage , the father of computers. A lover of mathematics and science in general, she was the first woman able to write a programming language applied to an analytical machine. His contributions have marked a before and after in the world of computer science, so much so that even a type of programming language in the United States was baptized in his honor: "Ada."
Hedy Lamarr: Wonder Woman.
Inventor, researcher, actress ... If this woman has it all! Born in Vienna in November 1914, Hedy Lamarr devised an early version of the widened spectrum, a technique that allowed wireless communications over long distances, and which has been the fundamental basis for some technologies used today such as WI-FI, Bluetooth Or GPS.
Evelyn Berezin: A restless mind.
Born in the United States in April 1925, she is recognized as the mother of word processors and what is now considered the "office computer" as we know it. In addition to this and being one of the women of her time who brought more ideas and projects to the world of computing, we can also highlight the invention of the first system of reservation of airline tickets.
Lynn Conway: The improvement in person.
American computer science and inventor born in 1938 whose work in the 70's has had a great impact on the design and development of microchips. Despite her job, she was fired from IBM because of her decision to change sex. However, once the process was completed, it reinvented itself as a programmer achieving great successes like the one previously commented :)
Nellie Bly The first Blogguer?
Born in Pennsylvania in May of 1864, she was the first investigative reporter , since instead of attending the interviews of that time, she was characterized by infiltrating in different unusual situations, later to write them in chronic form in her diary. One of his most relevant reports is: "Ten days in an asylum" in which he made himself a fool to be able to access a psychiatric and know the situation in which the patients were. Besides ... He went around the world in 79 days! A challenge that of course also related;)
In the online world ...
